- Parliament House stunned everyone with the news that it was resuming construction on the long awaited 2.0 version in downtown Orlando last week. And then they told us they were opening another location in Ivanhoe Village. Gay chaos ensued.
- Ex-commissioner Regina Hill wants to appeal an injunction that was placed on her to keep her away from the money and property of a 96-year-old constituent who claims she spent over $100,000 of her private savings. Hill’s lawyer says her opponents messed up and that the injunction isn’t legal and should be revoked. In other municipal news, Winter Park named its first-ever Black commissioner.
- FDOT is sticking to its schedule to hand over the bills to run SunRail by the end of the year and the payment formula has Orlando paying a big chunk.
- Baker Barrios won the RFQ to redevelop the historic Bob Carr theater space adjacent to Creative Ville in Parramore. They still need to iron out some details with the City before moving forward, but we got a look at some of their early plans.
- Baldwin Park-based brewery Tactical Brewing released a special line of THC-infused seltzers over the 4/20 weekend. The seltzers are made with Delta-9 THC and are legal to ingest, even if you don’t have a medical marijuana license.
- Michelin added more Orlando restaurants to its Visit Orlando-sponsored guidebook. Because that’s what they were paid to do.
- Orlando City Council voted to approve over $40 million of incentives for the Magic Entertainment District, which will be erected across the street from the Kia Center.
