This is our latest rundown of the top ten things you need to know this week, in Orlando’s downtown “bungalow neighborhoods.”
Click HERE to listen to Episode 369 of “Bungalower and The Bus” on Real Radio 104.1 FM, recorded at the new Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar in Winter Park Village – it’s part retail, part fancy bar, and they have a pretty robust menu of small plates too. Don’t forget to check out our March 2024 newspaper online HERE too.
TOP TEN HEADLINES
- The prettiest brewery in town, the beloved Deadwords Brewing will close at the end of April. And we’re pretty sad about it.
- Our Bungalower email inboxes were full of messages from concerned readers asking where a notorious “no left turn” traffic sign had disappeared to last week. So, we looked into it and we can proudly say that the sign has been returned and you can get back to honking your horns at dummies who try to turn left onto Colonial Drive when traveling northbound on Mills Avenue.
- The City of Orlando has brought back the (semi) autonomous Swan Shuttle service in downtown Orlando after a temporary hiatus to investigate a string of traffic incidents when it first launched.
- Remember that French cafe in Winter Park that won the Orlando Signature Dish contest and then closed? Well, there’s finally a new concept moving into their former Park Avenue Home and they’ll have focaccia pizzas.
- A super political spice store has returned to Orlando with a new shop in the SoDo District.
- Y’all have been asking us to check out a new building being erected in front of Fashion Square Mall for months and we finally were able to check it out and see what’s moving in. It’s a Del Taco. There you go.
- Starting this Friday, SunRail is bringing back the Choo-Choo to the Zoo shuttle service for riders heading to the Central Florida Zoo.
