- Longtime Ivanhoe Village antique shop, Golden Phoenix, is calling it quits after 30 years of business and closing this spring. The building sold after just 10 days on the market and a new tenant is already in the works.
- Super popular barbecue pop-up, Smokemade Meats, just shared an opening date for a new brick-and-mortar in Curry Ford West, and you’re not gonna want to miss it.
- Four-time James Beard Award nominee Henry Moso, of Kabooki Sushi fame, is opening a new hand roll bar in Winter Park. And true to the recent trend of high-design chef’s table restaurants, it’s really, really pretty.
- A contractor was just named for the long-awaited Under-i/Canopy urban park project, but not for the park part of the concept. They’ll be building the “temporary” 150-space parking lot there to help suffering Church Street businesses.
- City Council approved a CRA purchase of four downtown properties with a pricetag of roughly $20 million. Check out the early renderings of what they have planned.
- The DDB/CRA is looking to hire a new Assistant Director for their team, to help execute the CRA Area Plan. It’s a high-influence gig that will help shape the future of downtown Orlando and we really want it to go to someone awesome.
